Ukraine’s USF Natural Gas Reserves Up 23% To 18.801 Billion Cubic Meters Since April 30

Since April 30, the start of the current gas injection season, and as of October 9, Ukraine had boosted its natural gas reserves in its underground gas storage facilities (USF) by 23% or 3,522 million to 18.801 billion cubic meters.

The Ukrainian Gas Transport System Operator has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The said gas reserves were down 33.5% or 9,475 billion cubic meters year over year (28.276 billion cubic meters).

At the same time, on October 2-9, a total of 63 million cubic meters of natural gas was withdrawn from the USF.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 4, Ukraine stopped injection of natural gas into its USF.

The Energy and Environmental Protection Ministry is planning to accumulate 19.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the USF before the start of the heating season.

On April 30, Ukraine exited the 2020/2021 heating season with reserves of 15.279 billion cubic meters of gas in the USF, which is 3.4% less than in 2020.
