UAH 30 Billion Spent On Fighting Covid-19 In 8M

In the first eight months of 2021, over UAH 30 billion was spent on fighting Covid-19.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2020, out of UAH 80.9 billion a total of UAH 78.4 billion was spent to fight Covid-19.

In the first seven months of 2021, UAH 29 billion was spent on fighting Covid-19.

On September 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,744 over September 14 to 2,331,540, and the number of deaths increased by 101 over September 14 to 54,651; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 23.8%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 8.6%.

According to the report, as of the morning of September 16, a total of 2,331,540 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 54,651 fatal cases; 2,226,629 had recovered.

On September 15, a total of 5,744 new disease cases were recorded, 101 people died, and 1,499 people recovered.

Therefore, as of September 15, the number of newly infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (5,744 vs 1,499).

At the same time, on September 15, a total of 1,507 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, down 6.3% over September 14.
