From August 31 to September 3, the gas price in Europe increased by 2.7% or USD 17.24 per 1,000 cubic meters to USD 644.65 per 1,000 cubic meters.
This is evidenced by the results of trading on the TTF hub on the ICE Futures exchange, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to them, on August 31, the gas price was USD 627.41 per 1,000 cubic meters, on September 2, it grew to USD 649.69 per 1,000 cubic meters, however, on September 3, the price dropped to USD 644.65 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas.
Over the year, from September 3, 2020 to September 3, 2021, the gas price in Europe increased 3.6 times from USD 179.13 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas to USD 644.65 per 1,000 cubic meters.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Operator of the gas transmission system (GTS) of Ukraine state enterprise declares that the Gazprom company (Russia) artificially reduces gas reserves in underground gas storage facilities (UGS) in Europe.
In turn, Gazprom declares its readiness to maintain gas transit through the territory of Ukraine after 2024.
Yurii Vitrenko, board chairperson of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company, states that Ukraine will continue to insist on the need for sanctions against the operator of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2.
