Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 62.6% To 1,447, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 48.1% To 40 On August 17

On August 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 1,447 over August 16 to 2,268,666, and the number of deaths increased by 40 over August 16 to 53,336; at the same time, the number of new cases rose 62.6%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 48.1%.

The Ministry of Health has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of August 18, a total of 2,268,666 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 53,336 fatal cases; 2,198,220 had recovered.

On August 17, a total of 1,447 new disease cases were recorded, 40 people died, and 712 people recovered.

Therefore, as of August 17, the number of newly infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (1,447 vs 712).

At the same time, on August 17, a total of 667 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, up 78.6% over August 14.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 890 over August 15 to 2,267,219, and the number of deaths increased by 27 over August 15 to 53,269; at the same time, the number of new cases rose twice, and the number of new lethal cases rose 1.9 times.

On August 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 417 over August 14 to 2,266,329, and the number of deaths increased by 14 over August 14 to 53,269; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 40%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 17.6%.
