UAH 19.5 Billion Spent On Fighting Covid-19 In 5M

In the first five months of 2021, a total of UAH 19.5 billion was spent on fighting the Covid-19.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, since the start of 2021, the State Health Service has paid USD 7 billion to hospitals to fight the coronavirus infection.

According to the Finance Ministry, in 2020, of the Covid-19 fund’s UAH 80.9 billion, UAH 78.4 billion was paid to fight the disease.

On June 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 1,045 over June 14 to 2,226,037, and the number of deaths increased by 78 over June 14 to 51,847; at the same time, the number of new cases increased 3%, and the number of new lethal cases increased 1.3%.

According to the report, as of the morning of June 16, a total of 2,226,037 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 51,847 fatal cases; 2,140,978 people had recovered.

On June 15, a total of 1,045 new disease cases were recorded, 13 people died, and 4,802 people recovered.

Therefore, as of June 15, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (1,045 vs 4,802).

As of the morning of June 16, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 33,212, down 10.3% over June 15.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (211,437), Kharkiv region (148,025), and Odesa region (140,230).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 137,016 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 135,067; Kyiv region – 126,829 cases, Zaporizhia region – 104,150, Donetsk region – 90,237, Khmelnytskyi region – 88,640, Zhytomyr region – 88,188, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 86,571, Cherkasy region – 81,429, Chernivtsi region – 79,146, Rivne region – 79,228, and Sumy region – 78,570.

A total of 77,557 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 70,914 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 69,927 cases - in Ternopil region, 69,574 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 61,977 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 61,926 cases – in Volyn region, 57,357 cases – in Chernihiv region, 35,483 – in Kherson region, 26,437 – in Luhansk region, and 20,522 cases – in Kirovohrad region.
