Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 17% To 2,581, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 35% To 102 On June 2

On June 2, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,581 over June 1 to 2,209,417, and the number of deaths increased by 102 over June 1 to 50,959; at the same time, the number of new cases rose 17%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 35%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of June 3, a total of 2,209,417 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 50,959 fatal cases; 2,072,091 people had recovered.

On June 2, a total of 2,581 new disease cases were recorded, 102 people died, and 9,519 people recovered.

Therefore, as of June 2, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (2,581 vs 9,519).

As of the morning of June 3, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 86,367, down 7.5% over June 2.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (207,873), Kharkiv region (147,172), and Odesa region (139,681).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 136,240 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 133,922; Kyiv region – 125,635 cases, Zaporizhia region – 103,261, Donetsk region – 89,574, Khmelnytskyi region – 88,143, Zhytomyr region – 87,802, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 86,331, Cherkasy region – 80,903, Chernivtsi region – 79,406, Rivne region – 78,543, and Poltava region – 77,116.

A total of 77,095 cases have been registered in Sumy region, 70,616 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 69,589 cases - in Ternopil region, 68,811 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 61,741 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 61,469 cases – in Volyn region, 56,946 cases – in Chernihiv region, 34,970 – in Kherson region, 26,219 – in Luhansk region, and 20,359 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 1, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,205 over May 31 to 2,206,836, and the number of deaths increased by 158 over May 31 to 50,857; at the same time, the number of new cases rose 3.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 3.1%.

On May 31, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,137 over May 30 to 2,204,631, and the number of deaths increased by 163 over May 30 to 50,699; at the same time, the number of new cases rose 2.1 times, and the number of new lethal cases rose 2.5 times.
