Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 3.2% To 2,205, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 3.1% To 158 On June 1

On June 1, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,205 over May 31 to 2,206,836, and the number of deaths increased by 158 over May 31 to 50,857; at the same time, the number of new cases rose 3.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 3.1%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of June 2, a total of 2,206,836 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 50,857 fatal cases; 2,062,572 people had recovered.

On June 1, a total of 2,205 new disease cases were recorded, 158 people died, and 9,405 people recovered.

Therefore, as of June 1, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (2,205 vs 9,405).

As of the morning of June 2, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 93,407, down 7.3% over June 1.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (207,344), Kharkiv region (147,038), and Odesa region (139,631).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 136,086 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 133,745; Kyiv region – 125,492 cases, Zaporizhia region – 103,079, Donetsk region – 89,454, Khmelnytskyi region – 88,064, Zhytomyr region – 87,723, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 86,274, Cherkasy region – 80,828, Chernivtsi region – 79,353, Rivne region – 78,433, and Poltava region – 77,076.

A total of 77,017 cases have been registered in Sumy region, 70,586 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 69,538 cases - in Ternopil region, 68,746 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 61,693 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 61,392 cases – in Volyn region, 56,866 cases – in Chernihiv region, 34,878 – in Kherson region, 26,171 – in Luhansk region, and 20,329 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 31, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,137 over May 30 to 2,204,631, and the number of deaths increased by 163 over May 30 to 50,699; at the same time, the number of new cases rose 2.1 times, and the number of new lethal cases rose 2.5 times.

On May 30, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 1,022 over May 29 to 2,202,494, and the number of deaths increased by 64 over May 29 to 50,536; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 40%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 23.8%.
