Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 5.8% To 3,306, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 14.8% To 156 On May 27

On May 27, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,306 over May 26 to 2,196,673, and the number of deaths increased by 156 over May 26 to 50,232; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 5.8%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 14.8%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of May 28, a total of 2,196,673 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 50,232 fatal cases; 2,020,216 people had recovered.

On May 27, a total of 3,306 new disease cases were recorded, 156 people died, and 13,298 people recovered.

Therefore, as of May 27, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (3,306 vs 13,298).

As of the morning of May 28, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 126,225, down 7,4% over May 27.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (205,901), Kharkiv region (146,435), and Odesa region (139,242).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 135,580 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 132,862; Kyiv region – 124,799 cases, Zaporizhia region – 102,471, Donetsk region – 89,026, Khmelnytskyi region – 87,825, Zhytomyr region – 87,473, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 86,071, Cherkasy region – 80,424, Chernivtsi region – 79,119, Rivne region – 77,912, and Poltava region – 76,767.

A total of 76,708 cases have been registered in Sumy region, 70,416 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 69,318 cases - in Ternopil region, 68,229 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 61,549 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 61,100 cases – in Volyn region, 56,559 cases – in Chernihiv region, 34,623 – in Kherson region, 26,029 – in Luhansk region, and 20,235 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,509 over May 25 to 2,193,367, and the number of deaths increased by 183 over May 25 to 50,076; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 3.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 12%.

On May 25, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,395 over May 24 to 2,189,858, and the number of deaths increased by 208 over May 24 to 49,893; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 30.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 16.5%.
