Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 3.4% To 3,509, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 12% To 183 On May 26

On May 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,509 over May 25 to 2,193,367, and the number of deaths increased by 183 over May 25 to 50,076; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 3.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 12%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of May 27, a total of 2,193,367 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 50,076 fatal cases; 2,006,918 people had recovered.

On May 26, a total of 3,509 new disease cases were recorded, 183 people died, and 16,867 people recovered.

Therefore, as of May 26, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (3,509 vs 16,867).

As of the morning of May 27, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 136,373, down 9% over May 26.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (205,517), Kharkiv region (146,244), and Odesa region (139,128).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 135,329 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 132,582; Kyiv region – 124,578 cases, Zaporizhia region – 102,276, Donetsk region – 88,798, Khmelnytskyi region – 87,719, Zhytomyr region – 87,399, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 86,020, Cherkasy region – 80,289, Chernivtsi region – 79,051, Rivne region – 77,735, and Poltava region – 76,689.

A total of 76,610 cases have been registered in Sumy region, 70,353 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 69,241 cases - in Ternopil region, 68,075 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 61,511 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 60,996 cases – in Volyn region, 56,502 cases – in Chernihiv region, 34,554 – in Kherson region, 25,983 – in Luhansk region, and 20,188 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 25, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,395 over May 24 to 2,189,858, and the number of deaths increased by 208 over May 24 to 49,893; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 30.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 16.5%.

On May 24, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,608 over May 23 to 2,186,463, and the number of deaths increased by 249 over May 23 to 49,685; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 91.5%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 3.7 times.
