Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 30.2% To 3,395, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 16.5% To 208 On May 25

On May 25, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,395 over May 24 to 2,189,858, and the number of deaths increased by 208 over May 24 to 49,893; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 30.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 16.5%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of May 25, a total of 2,189,858 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 49,893 fatal cases; 1,990,051 people had recovered.

On May 25, a total of 3,395 new disease cases were recorded, 208 people died, and 14,987 people recovered.

Therefore, as of May 25, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (3,395 vs 14,987).

As of the morning of May 25, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 165,109, up 2.1% over May 24.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (205,063), Kharkiv region (146,011), and Odesa region (139,044).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 135,051 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 132,298; Kyiv region – 124,384 cases, Zaporizhia region – 102,089, Donetsk region – 88,666, Khmelnytskyi region – 87,597, Zhytomyr region – 87,279, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 85,949, Cherkasy region – 80,198, Chernivtsi region – 78,962, Rivne region – 77,572, and Poltava region – 76,578.

A total of 76,529 cases have been registered in Sumy region, 70,277 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 69,162 cases - in Ternopil region, 67,934 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 61,481 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 60,896 cases – in Volyn region, 56,343 cases – in Chernihiv region, 34,416 – in Kherson region, 25,924 – in Luhansk region, and 20,155 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 24, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,608 over May 23 to 2,186,463, and the number of deaths increased by 249 over May 23 to 49,685; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 91.5%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 3.7 times.

On May 23, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 1,334 over May 22 to 2,183,855, and the number of deaths increased by 68 over May 22 to 49,436; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 47.3%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 23.6%.
