Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 11% To 7,562, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 17% To 287 On May 13

On May 13, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,562 over May 12 to 2,143,448, and the number of deaths increased by 287 over May 12 to 47,620; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 11%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 17%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of May 14, a total of 2,143,448 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 47,620 fatal cases; 1,832,601 people had recovered.

On May 13, a total of 7,562 new disease cases were recorded, 287 people died, and 15,958 people recovered.

Therefore, as of May 13, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (7,562 vs 15,958).

As of the morning of May 14, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 263,227, down 3.2% over May 13.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (201,209), Kharkiv region (142,415), and Odesa region (137,201).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 132,655 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 128,019; Kyiv region – 121,550 cases, Zaporizhia region – 99,524, Khmelnytskyi region – 86,257, Zhytomyr region – 86,150, Donetsk region – 85,491, Ivano-Frankivsk region - 85,057, Cherkasy region – 78,474, Chernivtsi region – 78,211, Rivne region – 75,064, and Sumy region – 75,059.

A total of 74,999 cases have been registered in Rivne region, 69,283 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 68,059 cases - in Ternopil region, 65,864 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 60,830 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 59,337 cases – in Volyn region, 55,213 cases – in Chernihiv region, 32,886 – in Kherson region, 25,095 – in Luhansk region, and 19,546 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 12, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,813 over May 11 to 2,135,886, and the number of deaths increased by 346 over May 11 to 47,333; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 50.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 2.8%.

On May 11, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,538 over May 10 to 2,129,073, and the number of deaths increased by 356 over May 10 to 46,987; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by twice, and the number of new lethal cases increased three times.
