Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up Twice To 4,538, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up Thrice To 356 On May 11

On May 11, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,538 over May 10 to 2,129,073, and the number of deaths increased by 356 over May 10 to 46,987; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by twice, and the number of new lethal cases increased three times.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of May 12, a total of 2,129,073 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 46,987 fatal cases; 1,797,136 people had recovered.

On May 11, a total of 4,538 new disease cases were recorded, 356 people died, and 19,766 people recovered.

Therefore, as of May 11, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (4,538 vs 19,766).

As of the morning of May 12, the overall number of currently coronavirus-infected people in Ukraine was 284,950, down 5.2% over May 11.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (199,802), Kharkiv region (141,115), and Odesa region (136,637).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 132,046 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 126,979; Kyiv region – 120,989 cases, Zaporizhia region – 98,791, Zhytomyr region – 85,821, Khmelnytskyi region – 85,691, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 84,701, Donetsk region - 84,459, Chernivtsi region – 78,042, Cherkasy region – 77,698, Sumy region – 74,651, and Poltava region – 74,367.

A total of 74,248 cases have been registered in Rivne region, 69,029 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 67,730 cases - in Ternopil region, 65,335 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 60,621 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 58,883 cases – in Volyn region, 54,875 cases – in Chernihiv region, 32,478 – in Kherson region, 24,783 – in Luhansk region, and 19,302 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 10, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,208 over May 9 to 2,124,535, and the number of deaths increased by 119 over May 9 to 46,631; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 21.6%, and the number of new lethal cases remained at the level of May 9.

On May 9, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,817 over May 8 to 2,122,327, and the number of deaths increased by 119 over May 8 to 46,512; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 47.5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 38.3%.
