Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 4.2% To 2,576, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 3% To 161 On May 4

On May 4, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,576 over May 3 to 2,090,986, and the number of deaths increased by 161 over May 3 to 45,077; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 4.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 3%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of May 5, a total of 2,090,986 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 45,077 fatal cases; 1,697,358 people had recovered.

On May 4, a total of 2,576 new disease cases were recorded, 161 people died, and 7,728 people recovered.

Therefore, as of May 4, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (2,576 vs 7,728).

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (196,735), Kharkiv region (137,863), and Odesa region (134,937).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 130,414 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 123,497; Kyiv region – 119,488 cases, Zaporizhia region – 96,887, Zhytomyr region – 84,818, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 84,144, Donetsk region – 81,395, Chernivtsi region - 77,492, Cherkasy region – 75,962, Sumy region – 73,435, and Poltava region – 75,514.

A total of 72,176 cases have been registered in Rivne region, 68,239 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 66,751 cases - in Ternopil region, 63,909 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 60,180 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 57,813 cases – in Volyn region, 53,935 cases – in Chernihiv region, 31,598 – in Kherson region, 23,751 – in Luhansk region, and 18,709 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 3, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,472 over May 2 to 2,088,410, and the number of deaths increased by 166 over May 2 to 44,916; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 10.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 7.8%.

On May 2, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,758 over May 1 to 2,085,938, and the number of deaths increased by 154 over May 1 to 44,750; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 45.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 3.75%.
