Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 21.2% To 11,627, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 12.2% To 387 On April 28

On April 28, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,627 over April 27 to 2,059,465, and the number of deaths increased by 387 over April 27 to 43,778; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 21.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 12.2%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 29, a total of 2,059,465 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 43,778 fatal cases; 1,635,333 people had recovered.

On April 28, a total of 11,627 new disease cases were recorded, 387 people died, and 18,442 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 28, the number of newly-infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (11,627 vs 18,442).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 29 was 380,354, down 1.9% over April 28.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (194,630), Kharkiv region (134,970), and Odesa region (133,129).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 128,998 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 120,225; Kyiv region – 118,138 cases, Zaporizhia region – 95,406, Zhytomyr region – 83,931, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 83,766, Khmelnytskyi region – 83,080, Donetsk region - 79,066, Chernivtsi region – 77,002, Cherkasy region – 74,123, Sumy region – 72,398, and Rivne region – 71,184.

A total of 71,111 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 67,607 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 65,810 cases - in Ternopil region, 62,848 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 59,936 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 56,958 cases – in Volyn region, 53,031 cases – in Chernihiv region, 30,887 – in Kherson region, 23,214 – in Luhansk region, and 18,017 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 27, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 9,590 over April 26 to 2,047,838, and the number of deaths increased by 441 over April 26 to 43,391; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 21.2%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.1%.

On April 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,915 over April 25 to 2,038,248, and the number of deaths increased by 432 over April 25 to 42,950; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 56.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.2 times.
