Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 56.4% To 7,915, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 2.2 Times To 432 On April 26

On April 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,915 over April 25 to 2,038,248, and the number of deaths increased by 432 over April 25 to 42,950; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 56.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.2 times.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 27, a total of 2,038,248 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 42,950 fatal cases; 1,596,829 people had recovered.

On April 26, a total of 7,915 new disease cases were recorded, 432 people died, and 17,391 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 26, the number of newly-infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (17,391 vs 7,915).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 27 was 398,469, down 2.4% over April 26.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (192,620), Kharkiv region (132,949), and Odesa region (132,089).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 127,801 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 118,620; Kyiv region – 117,413 cases, Zaporizhia region – 94,375, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 83,480, Zhytomyr region – 83,314, Khmelnytskyi region – 82,136, Donetsk region - 77,446, Chernivtsi region – 76,742, Cherkasy region – 73,234, Sumy region – 71,702, and Rivne region – 70,308.

A total of 70,073 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 67,108 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 65,292 cases - in Ternopil region, 62,256 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 59,680 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 56,257 cases – in Volyn region, 52,526 cases – in Chernihiv region, 30,388 – in Kherson region, 22,730 – in Luhansk region, and 17,709 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 25, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,062 over April 24 to 2,030,333, and the number of deaths increased by 195 over April 24 to 42,518; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 36.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 15.6%.

On April 24, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,930 over April 23 to 2,025,271, and the number of deaths increased by 231 over April 23 to 42,323; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 37.6%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 41.1%.
