Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 12.1% To 14,277, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 7.7% To 434 On April 22

On April 22, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 14,277 over April 21 to 2,004,630, and the number of deaths increased by 434 over April 21 to 41,700; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 12.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 7.7%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 23, a total of 2,004,630 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 41,700 fatal cases; 1,552,267 people had recovered.

On April 22, a total of 14,277 new disease cases were recorded, 434 people died, and 18,964 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 22, the number of newly-infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (18,964 vs 14,277).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 23 was 410,663, down 1.2% over April 22.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (190,138), Odesa region (130,273), and Kharkiv region (129,790).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 126,096 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 115,462; Dnipropetrovsk region – 115,198 cases, Zaporizhia region – 92,815, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 83,178, Zhytomyr region – 82,482, Khmelnytskyi region – 81,081, Chernivtsi region - 76,257, Donetsk region – 75,257, Cherkasy region – 71,653, Sumy region – 70,586, and Rivne region – 68,939.

A total of 68,488 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 66,463 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 64,396 cases - in Ternopil region, 60,918 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 59,284 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 55,246 cases – in Volyn region, 51,703 cases – in Chernihiv region, 29,855 – in Kherson region, 22,127 – in Luhansk region, and 16,945 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 21, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 16,235 over April 20 to 1,990,353, and the number of deaths increased by 470 over April 20 to 41,266; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 33.5%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 9.6%.

On April 20, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 12,162 over April 19 to 1,974,118, and the number of deaths increased by 429 over April 19 to 40,796; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 36%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 16.9%.
