Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 36.7% To 6,506, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 14.4% To 214 On April 18

On April 18, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,506 over April 17 to 1,953,016, and the number of deaths increased by 214 over April 17 to 40,000; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 36.7%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 14.4%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 19, a total of 1,953,016 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 40,000 fatal cases; 1,487,677 people had recovered.

On April 18, a total of 6,506 new disease cases were recorded, 214 people died, and 5,598 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 18, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (6,506 vs 5,598).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 19 was 425,339, up 0.16% over April 18.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (185,339), Odesa region (126,828), and Kharkiv region (126,061).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 123,397 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 112,135; Dnipropetrovsk region – 111,559 cases, Zaporizhia region – 89,648, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 82,697, Zhytomyr region – 81,119, Khmelnytskyi region – 78,656, Chernivtsi region - 75,392, Donetsk region – 72,283, Cherkasy region – 69,236, Sumy region – 68,970, and Rivne region – 66,806.

A total of 65,796 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 65,218 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 63,207 cases - in Ternopil region, 59,393 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 58,752 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 53,594 cases – in Volyn region, 50,638 cases – in Chernihiv region, 28,956 – in Kherson region, 21,055 – in Luhansk region, and 16,281 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,282 over April 16 to 1,946,510, and the number of deaths increased by 250 over April 16 to 39,786; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 14.3%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 43.2%.

On April 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 14,984 over April 15 to 1,936,228, and the number of deaths increased by 440 over April 15 to 39,536; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 14.3%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 0.5%.
