Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 6.4% To 17,479, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 1.2% To 438 On April 15

On April 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 17,479 over April 14 to 1,921,244, and the number of deaths increased by 438 over April 14 to 39,096; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 6.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 1.2%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 16, a total of 1,921,244 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 39,096 fatal cases; 1,465,820 people had recovered.

On April 15, a total of 17,479 new disease cases were recorded, 438 people died, and 12,054 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 15, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (17,479 vs. 12,054).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 16 was 416,328, up 1.2% over April 15.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (183,300), Odesa region (124,764), and Kharkiv region (122,463).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 121,653 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 110,145; Dnipropetrovsk region – 108,515 cases, Zaporizhia region – 88,741, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 82,402, Zhytomyr region – 80,034, Khmelnytskyi region – 77,372, Chernivtsi region - 74,831, Donetsk region – 70,654, Cherkasy region – 67,968, and Rivne region – 65,838.

A total of 64,727 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 64,575 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 62,354 cases - in Ternopil region, 58,411 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 58,032 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 52,841 cases – in Volyn region, 49,262 cases – in Chernihiv region, 28,344 – in Kherson region, 20,695 – in Luhansk region, and 15,684 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 14, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 16,427 over April 13 to 1,903,765, and the number of deaths increased by 433 over April 13 to 38,658; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 12.9%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 7.3%.

On April 13, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 14,553 over April 12 to 1,887,338, and the number of deaths increased by 467 over April 12 to 38,225; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 24.6%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.2%.
