Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 1.3% To 19,676, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 9.7% To 419 On April 8

On April 8, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 19,676 over April 7 to 1,823,674, and the number of deaths increased by 419 over April 7 to 36,381; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 1.3%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 9.7%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 9, a total of 1,823,674 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 36,381 fatal cases; 1,395,104 people had recovered.

On March 23, a total of 19,676 new disease cases were recorded, 419 people died, and 11,221 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 8, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (19,676 vs. 11,221).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 9 was 392,189, up 2.1% over April 8.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (174,267), Odesa region (118,743), and Kharkiv region (115,087).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 114,447 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 104,452; Dnipropetrovsk region – 101,038 cases, Zaporizhia region – 84,206, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 81,540, Zhytomyr region – 76,933, Chernivtsi region – 73,172, Khmelnytskyi region - 72,432, Donetsk region – 65,548, Sumy region – 63,938, Cherkasy region – 63,516, and Rivne region – 62,755.

A total of 62,259 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 60,521 cases – in Poltava region, 59,399 cases - in Ternopil region, 57,211 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 55,357 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 50,264 cases – in Volyn region, 46,265 cases – in Chernihiv region, 26,580 – in Kherson region, 19,162 – in Luhansk region, and 14,582 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 7, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 19,419 over April 6 to 1,803,998, and the number of deaths increased by 464 over April 6 to 35,962; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 26%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 3.5%.

On April 6, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 15,415 over April 5 to 1,784,579, and the number of deaths increased by 481 over April 5 to 35,498; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 16.1%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 11.9%.
