Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 26% To 19,419, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 3.5% To 464 On April 7

On April 7, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 19,419 over April 6 to 1,803,998, and the number of deaths increased by 464 over April 6 to 35,962; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 26%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 3.5%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 8, a total of 1,803,998 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 35,962 fatal cases; 1,383,883 people had recovered.

On March 23, a total of 19,419 new disease cases were recorded, 464 people died, and 10,032 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 7, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (19,419 vs. 10,032).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 8 was 384,153, up 2.4% over April 7.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (172,403), Odesa region (117,549), and Kharkiv region (113,448).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 113,253 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 103,187; Dnipropetrovsk region – 99,373 cases, Zaporizhia region – 83,383, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 81,309, Zhytomyr region – 76,286, Chernivtsi region – 72,795, Khmelnytskyi region - 71,338, Donetsk region – 64,402, Sumy region – 63,118, Cherkasy region – 62,682, and Rivne region – 62,198.

A total of 61,619 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 59,673 cases – in Poltava region, 59,026 cases - in Ternopil region, 56,975 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 54,985 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 49,816 cases – in Volyn region, 45,606 cases – in Chernihiv region, 26,263 – in Kherson region, 18,936 – in Luhansk region, and 14,375 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 6, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 15,415 over April 5 to 1,784,579, and the number of deaths increased by 481 over April 5 to 35,498; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 16.1%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 11.9%.

On April 5, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 13,276 over April 4 to 1,769,164, and the number of deaths increased by 430 over April 4 to 35,017; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 30.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 69.3%.
