Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 16.1% To 15,415, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 11.9% To 481 On April 6

On April 6, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 15,415 over April 5 to 1,784,579, and the number of deaths increased by 481 over April 5 to 35,498; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 16.1%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 11.9%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 7, a total of 1,784,579 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 35,498 fatal cases; 1,373,851 people had recovered.

On April 6, a total of 15,415 new disease cases were recorded, 481 people died, and 11,472 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 6, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (15,415 vs. 11,472).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 7 was 375,230, up 0.9% over April 6.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (170,517), Odesa region (116,407), and Lviv region (112,193).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 111,826 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 102,211; Dnipropetrovsk region – 98,368 cases, Zaporizhia region – 82,487, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 81,035, Zhytomyr region – 75,417, Chernivtsi region – 72,382, Khmelnytskyi region - 70,180, Donetsk region – 63,386, Sumy region – 62,558, Cherkasy region – 61,860, and Rivne region – 61,465.

A total of 61,015 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 58,935 cases – in Poltava region, 58,230 cases - in Ternopil region, 56,650 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 54,632 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 49,305 cases – in Volyn region, 44,901 cases – in Chernihiv region, 25,789 – in Kherson region, 18,672 – in Luhansk region, and 14,158 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 5, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 13,276 over April 4 to 1,769,164, and the number of deaths increased by 430 over April 4 to 35,017; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 30.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 69.3%.

On April 4, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,179 over April 3 to 1,755,888, and the number of deaths increased by 254 over April 3 to 34,587; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 25.9%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 1.6%.
