Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 25.9% To 10,179, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 1.6% To 254 On April 4

On April 4, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,179 over April 3 to 1,755,888, and the number of deaths increased by 254 over April 3 to 34,587; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 25.9%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 1.6%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 5, a total of 1,755,888 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 34,587 fatal cases; 1,352,139 people had recovered.

On March 23, a total of 10,179 new disease cases were recorded, 254 people died, and 4,946 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 4, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (10,179 vs. 4,946).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 5 was 369,162, up 1.4% over April 4.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (167,668), Odesa region (113,735), and Kharkiv region (110,003).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 109,931 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 100,230; Dnipropetrovsk region – 96,853 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 80,755, Zhytomyr region – 74,739, Chernivtsi region – 71,670, Khmelnytskyi region – 68,916, Donetsk region - 62,213, Sumy region – 61,767, Cherkasy region – 60,516, and Rivne region – 60,296.

A total of 60,007 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 57,723 cases – in Poltava region, 57,150 cases - in Ternopil region, 55,930 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 53,851 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 48,598 cases – in Volyn region, 44,655 cases – in Chernihiv region, 25,384 – in Kherson region, 18,201 – in Luhansk region, and 13,954 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 3, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 13,738 over April 2 to 1,745,709, and the number of deaths increased by 258 over April 2 to 34,333; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 32.5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 34.8%.

On April 2, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 20,341 over April 1 to 1,731,971, and the number of deaths increased by 396 over April 1 to 34,075; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 2.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 10.8%.
