Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 13.2% To 19,893, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 2.9% To 433 On April 1

On April 1, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 19,893 over March 31 to 1,711,630, and the number of deaths increased by 433 over March 31 to 33,679; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 13.2%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.9%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of April 2, a total of 1,579,906 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 32,679 fatal cases; 1,323,370 people had recovered.

On March 23, a total of 19,893 new disease cases were recorded, 433 people died, and 10,287 people recovered.

Therefore, as of April 1, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (19,893 vs. 10,287).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of April 2 was 344,581, up 2.7% over April 1.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (164,605), Odesa region (110,479), and Kharkiv region (106,479).

Besides, Kharkiv region has registered a total of 105,918 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 97,441; Dnipropetrovsk region – 93,274 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 80,098, Zaporizhia region – 79,768, Zhytomyr region – 72,924, Chernivtsi region – 70,752, Khmelnytskyi region - 66,273, Donetsk region – 60,542, Sumy region – 59,752, Rivne region – 59,024, and Cherkasy region – 58,766.

A total of 58,765 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 56,526 cases – in Poltava region, 55,531 cases - in Ternopil region, 55,085 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 52,707 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 47,686 cases – in Volyn region, 43,077 cases – in Chernihiv region, 24,748 – in Kherson region, 17,879 – in Luhansk region, and 13,531 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 31, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 17,569 over March 30 to 1,691,737, and the number of deaths increased by 421 over March 30 to 33,246; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 56.5%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 3.4%.

On March 30, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,226 over March 29 to 1,674,168, and the number of deaths increased by 407 over March 29 to 32,825; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 6.6%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 42.3%.
