Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 30.1% To 8,346, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 12.3% To 178 On March 28

On March 28, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,346 over March 27 to 1,652,409, and the number of deaths increased by 178 over March 27 to 32,132; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 30.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 12.3%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 29, a total of 1,579,906 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 32,132 fatal cases; 1,303,500 people had recovered.

On March 23, a total of 8,346 new disease cases were recorded, 178 people died, and 2,875 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 28, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (8,346 vs. 2,875).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 29 was 316,777, up 1.7% over March 28.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (159,769), Odesa region (105,833), and Kharkiv region (102,136).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 101,876 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 93,959; Dnipropetrovsk region – 90,449 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 78,703, Zaporizhia region – 77,444, Zhytomyr region – 70,429, Chernivtsi region – 69,347, Khmelnytskyi region - 62,605, Donetsk region – 57,998, Sumy region – 57,491, Rivne region – 56,798, and Cherkasy region – 56,739.

A total of 56,236 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 54,238 cases – in Poltava region, 53,597 cases - in Ternopil region, 53,488 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 51,390 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 46,188 cases – in Volyn region, 41,641 cases – in Chernihiv region, 24,043 – in Kherson region, 17,027 – in Luhansk region, and 12,985 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 27, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,932 over March 26 to 1,644,063, and the number of deaths increased by 203 over March 26 to 31,954; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 31.5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 30%.

On March 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 17,424 over March 25 to 1,632,131, and the number of deaths increased by 290 over March 25 to 31,751; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 3.9%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 11%.
