Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 17.6% To 16,669, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 5.8% To 362 On March 24

On March 24, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 16,669 over March 23 to 1,596,575, and the number of deaths increased by 362 over March 23 to 31,135; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 17.6%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 5.8%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 25, a total of 1,596,575 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 31,135 fatal cases; 1,283,020 people had recovered.

On March 24, a total of 16,669 new disease cases were recorded, 362 people died, and 6,748 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 24, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (16,669 vs. 6,748).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 25 was 282,420, up 3.5% over March 24.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (156,603), Odesa region (101,783), and Kharkiv region (97,986).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 97,440 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 90,260; Dnipropetrovsk region – 86,190 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 77,395, Zaporizhia region – 75,880, Chernivtsi region – 67,545, Zhytomyr region – 67,367, Khmelnytskyi region - 59,639, Donetsk region – 55,455, Sumy region – 55,403, Rivne region – 55,256, and Cherkasy region – 54,842.

A total of 53,866 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 52,568 cases – in Poltava region, 52,234 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 51,495 cases - in Ternopil region, 49,761 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 45,054 cases – in Volyn region, 40,147 cases – in Chernihiv region, 23,356 – in Kherson region, 16,662 – in Luhansk region, and 12,388 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 23, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 14,174 over March 22 to 1,579,906, and the number of deaths increased by 342 over March 22 to 30,773; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 23.5%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.7%.

On March 22, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,476 over March 21 to 1,565,732, and the number of deaths increased by 333 over March 21 to 30,431; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 42.1 times, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.1 times.
