Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 23.5% To 14,174, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 2.7% To 342 On March 23

On March 23, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 14,174 over March 22 to 1,579,906, and the number of deaths increased by 342 over March 22 to 30,773; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 23.5%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.7%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 24, a total of 1,579,906 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 30,773 fatal cases; 1,276,272 people had recovered.

On March 23, a total of 14,174 new disease cases were recorded, 342 people died, and 7,386 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 23, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (14,174 vs. 7,386).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 24 was 272,861, up 2.4% over March 23.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (155,336), Odesa region (100,548), and Kharkiv region (97,068).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 96,408 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 89,388; Dnipropetrovsk region – 85,298 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 76,883, Zaporizhia region – 75,392, Chernivtsi region – 67,002, Zhytomyr region – 66,231, Khmelnytskyi region - 58,650, Sumy region – 54,790, Rivne region – 54,630, Donetsk region – 54,677, and Cherkasy region – 54,342.

A total of 53,094 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 52,047 cases – in Poltava region, 51,566 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 50,964 cases - in Ternopil region, 49,384 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 44,705 cases – in Volyn region, 39,599 cases – in Chernihiv region, 23,188 – in Kherson region, 16,521 – in Luhansk region, and 12,204 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 22, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,476 over March 21 to 1,565,732, and the number of deaths increased by 333 over March 21 to 30,431; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 42.1 times, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.1 times.

On March 21, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,893 over March 20 to 1,554,256, and the number of deaths increased by 157 over March 20 to 30,098; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 29.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 5.4%.
