Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 42.1 times To 11,476, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 2.1 Times To 333 On March 22

On March 22, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,476 over March 21 to 1,565,732, and the number of deaths increased by 333 over March 21 to 30,431; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 42.1 times, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.1 times.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 23, a total of 1,565,732 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 30,431 fatal cases; 1,268,886 people had recovered.

On March 22, a total of 11,476 new disease cases were recorded, 333 people died, and 8,044 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 22, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (11,476 vs. 8,044).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 23 was 266,415, up 1.2% over March 22.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (154,036), Odesa region (99,371), and Kharkiv region (96,259).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 95,469 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 88,575; Dnipropetrovsk region – 84,513 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 76,532, Zaporizhia region – 74,789, Chernivtsi region – 66,518, Zhytomyr region – 65,778, Khmelnytskyi region - 57,656, Sumy region – 54,296, Rivne region – 54,090, Donetsk region – 54,042, and Cherkasy region – 53,907.

A total of 52,478 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 51,597 cases – in Poltava region, 50,929 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 50,442 cases - in Ternopil region, 49,004 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 44,430 cases – in Volyn region, 39,501 cases – in Chernihiv region, 23,060 – in Kherson region, 16,369 – in Luhansk region, and 12,091 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 21, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,893 over March 20 to 1,554,256, and the number of deaths increased by 157 over March 20 to 30,098; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 29.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 5.4%.

On March 20, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,145 over March 19 to 1,546,363, and the number of deaths increased by 166 over March 19 to 29,941; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 27.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 36.2%.
