Weighted Average Price Of Electricity At Day-Ahead Market Up 23.9% To UAH 1,621.2 Per MWh On March 15-22

As of March 22, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine increased by 23.9% or UAH 312.52 per MWh to UAH 1,621.18 per MWh over March 15.

The Market Operator state-run enterprise has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In turn, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market within the Burshtyn Energy Island decreased by 1.5% or UAH 25.1 per MWh to UAH 1,703.83 per MWh.

Compared to prices on the European energy exchange Nord Pool, the price in the UES of Ukraine (EUR 49.20 per MWh) higher than the prices in Norway (EUR 34.99 per MWh) by 40.6%, and in Sweden (EUR 35.44 per MWh) by 38.8%.

At the same time, the price of electricity in Denmark (EUR 58.05 per MWh) was by 15.2% higher than in Ukraine, in France (EUR 60.85 per MWh) by 19.1%, in Germany (EUR 60.48 per MWh) by 18.7%, and in Austria (EUR 60.56 per MWh) by 30.3%.

Also at the Hungarian stock exchange HUPX for the same period, the weighted average cost of electricity increased by 4.5% or EUR 2.54 per MWh to EUR 59.49 per MWh (UAH 1,960.20 per MWh according to the NBU rate as of March 22).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of March 15, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine decreased by 7.6% or UAH 107.68 per MWh to UAH 1,308.66 per MWh over March 9.
