Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 42% To 9,642, Number Of New Lethal Cases Doubles To 264 On March 15

On March 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 9,642 over March 14 to 1,477,190, and the number of deaths increased by 264 over March 14 to 28,697; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 42%, and the number of new lethal cases rose twice.

The Ministry of Health has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 16, a total of 1,477,190 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 28,697 fatal cases; 1,232,209 people had recovered.

On March 15, a total of 9,642 new disease cases were recorded, 264 people died, and 6,202 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 15, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (9,642 vs. 6,202).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 16 was 216,284, up 1.5% over March 15.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (147,710), Odesa region (92,992), and Kharkiv region (90,760).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 88,124 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 83,110; Dnipropetrovsk region – 79,680 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 73,628, Zaporizhia region – 72,317, Chernivtsi region – 62,937, Zhytomyr region – 60,323, Khmelnytskyi region - 53,113, Rivne region – 51,674, Sumy region – 51,521, Cherkasy region – 51,310, and Donetsk region – 50,911.

A total of 48,901 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 47,762 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 47,313 cases - in Vinnytsia region, 46,957 cases - in Ternopil region, 46,218 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 42,689 cases – in Volyn region, 37,740 cases – in Chernihiv region, 22,385 – in Kherson region, 15,736 – in Luhansk region, and 11,379 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 14, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,792 over March 13 to 1,467,548, and the number of deaths increased by 130 over March 13 to 28,433; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 24.6%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 10.3%.

On March 13, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 9,012 over March 12 to 1,460,756, and the number of deaths increased by 145 over March 12 to 28,303; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 32.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 40.3%.
