Weighted Average Price Of Electricity At Day-Ahead Market Down 7.4% To UAH 1,633.23 Per MWh On February 1-8

As of February 8, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine decreased by 7.4% or UAH 130.54 per MWh to UAH 1,633.23 per MWh over February 1.

The Market Operator state-run enterprise has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In turn, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market within the Burshtyn Energy Island decreased by 0.9% or UAH 16.94 per MWh to UAH 1,795.18 per MWh.

Compared to prices on the European energy exchange Nord Pool, the price in the UES of Ukraine (EUR 49.07 per MWh) lower than the prices in Norway (EUR 53.09 per MWh) by 8.2%, in Sweden (EUR 53.70 per MWh) by 9.4%, in Denmark (EUR 49.54 per MWh) by 0.9%, in France (EUR 50.07 per MWh) by 2%.

At the same time, in Germany, the price for electricity (EUR 43.52 per MWh) lower by 11.3% than in Ukraine, and in Austria (EUR 45.13 per MWh) by 8%.

Also at the Hungarian stock exchange HUPX for the same period, the weighted average cost of electricity decreased by 12.2% or EUR 6.68 per MWh to EUR 48.17 per MWh (UAH 1,603.21 per MWh according to the NBU rate as of February 1).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of February 1, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine increased by 3.4% or UAH 58.28 per MWh to UAH 1,763.77 per MWh over January 25.
