Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 37.2% To 3,285, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 5.8% To 165 On February 2

On February 2, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,285 over February 1 to 1,227,164, and the number of deaths increased by 165 over February 1 to 23,089; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 37.2%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 5.8%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of February 3, there were 1,227,164 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 23,089 lethal cases; besides, 1,045,473 people had recovered.

On February 2, a total of 3,285 new cases of the disease were recorded, 165 people died, and 10,101 people recovered.

Therefore, as at February 2, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (10,101 vs 3,285).

As at the morning of February 3, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 158,602, down 4.2% over February 2.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (129,164), Odesa region (81,770), and Kharkiv region (78,366).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 71,628 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 69,609; Dnipropetrovsk region – 68,015 cases, Zaporizhia region – 66,153, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 49,479, Rivne region – 46,083, Sumy region – 46,013, Cherkasy region - 45,985, Chernivtsi region – 45,965, Zhytomyr region – 44,711, Donetsk region – 44,322, and Khmelnytskyi region – 43,964.

A total of 43,487 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 39,182 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 38,077 cases - in Ternopil region, 37,070 cases - in Volyn region, 33,933 cases – in Chernihiv region, 32,091 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 27,410 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 20,789 cases – in Kherson region, 14,037 – in Luhansk region, and 9,861 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 1, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,394 over January 31 to 1,223,879, and the number of deaths increased by 156 over January 31 to 22,924; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 17.9%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.6 times.

On January 31, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,030 over January 30 to 1,221,485, and the number of deaths increased by 61 over January 30 to 22,768; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 36.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 22.8%.
