Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 46.4% To 5,529, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 2.8% To 149 On January 27

On January 27, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,529 over January 26 to 1,206,412, and the number of deaths increased by 149 over January 26 to 22,351; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 46.4%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.8%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 28, there were 1,206,412 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 22,351 lethal cases; besides, 992,031 people had recovered.

On January 27, a total of 5,529 new cases of the disease were recorded, 149 people died, and 11,946 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 27, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (11,946 vs 5,529).

As at the morning of January 28, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 192,030, down 3.3% over January 27.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (127,475), Odesa region (80,787), and Kharkiv region (77,222).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 70,245 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 68,381; Dnipropetrovsk region – 66,930 cases, Zaporizhia region – 65,130, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 47,501, Sumy region – 45,537, Rivne region – 45,498, Cherkasy region - 45,345, Chernivtsi region – 44,955, Zhytomyr region – 44,003, Khmelnytskyi region – 43,671, and Donetsk region – 43,564.

A total of 42,771 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 38,501 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 37,396 cases - in Ternopil region, 36,442 cases - in Volyn region, 33,469 cases – in Chernihiv region, 31,149 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 26,432 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 20,551 cases – in Kherson region, 13,745 – in Luhansk region, and 9,719 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,776 over January 25 to 1,200,883, and the number of deaths increased by 145 over January 25 to 22,202; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 35.9%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 9%.

On January 25, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,779 over January 24 to 1,197,107, and the number of deaths increased by 133 over January 24 to 22,057; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 10.5%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.1 times.
