Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 35.9% To 3,776, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 9% To 145 On January 26

On January 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,776 over January 25 to 1,200,883, and the number of deaths increased by 145 over January 25 to 22,202; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 35.9%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 9%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 27, there were 1,200,883 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 22,202 lethal cases; besides, 980,085 people had recovered.

On January 26, a total of 3,776 new cases of the disease were recorded, 145 people died, and 14,250 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 26, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (14,250 vs 3,776).

As at the morning of January 27, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 198,596, down 5.1% over January 26.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (127,076), Odesa region (80,616), and Kharkiv region (76,909).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 69,791 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 68,218; Dnipropetrovsk region – 66,634 cases, Zaporizhia region – 64,881, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 47,239, Sumy region – 45,362, Rivne region – 45,326, Cherkasy region - 45,242, Chernivtsi region – 44,670, Zhytomyr region – 43,740, Khmelnytskyi region – 43,429, and Donetsk region – 43,363.

A total of 42,620 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 38,193 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 37,183 cases - in Ternopil region, 36,283 cases - in Volyn region, 33,270 cases – in Chernihiv region, 30,898 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 26,177 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 20,449 cases – in Kherson region, 13,640 – in Luhansk region, and 9,674 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 25, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,779 over January 24 to 1,197,107, and the number of deaths increased by 133 over January 24 to 22,057; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 10.5%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.1 times.

On January 24, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,516 over January 23 to 1,194,328, and the number of deaths increased by 63 over January 23 to 21,924; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 35.7%, and the number of new lethal cases fell by 24.1%.
