Total State Debt Up 7.1% To USD 90.26 Billion December, 6.9% In 2020

The overall state (direct and state-secured) debt of Ukraine in December rose by 7.1% or USD 6.01 billion month over month to USD 90.26 billion.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

At that, in 2020, the state debt rose by 6.9% from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.

The state and state-secured debt as at late December was UAH 2,551.9 billion or USD 90.26 billion over UAH 2,398.29 billion or USD 84.24 million month over month.

The overall size of the direct state debt as at December 31 was UAH 2,259.23 billion (USD 79.9 billion) over UAH 2,109.01 billion (USD 74.08 billion) month over month.

At the same time, the direct external debt in December rose from USD 42.29 billion to USD 44.51 billion.

The direct domestic debt rose from UAH 905.10 billion to UAH 1,000.71 billion.

As at December 31, the state-secured debt was UAH 292.7 billion or USD 10.35 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2019, state and state-guaranteed debt increased by USD 6.05 billion, and in hryvnia equivalent decreased by UAH 170 billion.

At the same time, in 2019, the amount of direct government debt increased by USD 7.2 billion, and in hryvnia equivalent decreased by UAH 98.9 billion.
