Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 11.3% To 4,383, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 19.8% To 212 On January 19

On January 19, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,383 over January 18 to 1,172,038, and the number of deaths increased by 212 over January 18 to 21,258; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 11.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 19.8%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 20, there were 1,172,038 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 21,258 lethal cases; besides, 900,749 people had recovered.

On January 19, a total of 4,383 new cases of the disease were recorded, 212 people died, and 14,501 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 19, the indicator of those, who recovered was higher than the number of newly-infected people (14,501 vs 4,383).

As at the morning of January 20, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 250,031, down 3.96% over January 19.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (124,240), Odesa region (79,233), and Kharkiv region (75,368).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 67,887 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 66,714; Dnipropetrovsk region – 64,915 cases, Zaporizhia region – 62,915, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 45,636, Sumy region – 44,548, Cherkasy region – 44,330, Rivne region - 44,318, Chernivtsi region – 43,374, Zhytomyr region – 42,850, Khmelnytskyi region – 42,599, and Donetsk region – 42,199.

A total of 41,544 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 37,007 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 36,382 cases - in Ternopil region, 35,567 cases - in Volyn region, 32,627 cases – in Chernihiv region, 30,033 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 25,251 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 19,875 cases – in Kherson region, 13,182 – in Luhansk region, and 9,444 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 18, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,939 over January 17 to 1,167,655, and the number of deaths increased by 177 over January 17 to 21,046; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 29.8%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 2.6 times.

On January 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,034 over January 16 to 1,163,716, and the number of deaths increased by 67 over January 16 to 20,869; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 49.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 42.2%.
