Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 25.3% To 6,409, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 6% To 195 On January 12

On January 12, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,409 over January 11 to 1,130,839, and the number of deaths increased by 195 over January 11 to 20,214; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 25.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 6%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, As at the morning of January 13, there were 1,130,839 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 20,214 lethal cases; besides, 826,871 people had recovered.

On January 12, a total of 6,409 new cases of the disease were recorded, 195 people died, and 14,503 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 12, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (14,503 vs 6,409).

As at the morning of January 13, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 283,754, down 2.8% over January 12.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (119,392), Odesa region (76,803), and Kharkiv region (73,462).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 65,566 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 64,264; Dnipropetrovsk region – 62,592 cases, Zaporizhia region – 59,566, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 44,615, Sumy region – 43,230, Rivne region – 43,178, Cherkasy region - 42,584, Chernivtsi region – 42,016, Zhytomyr region – 41,667, Khmelnytskyi region – 41,641, and Donetsk region – 39,921.

A total of 39,816 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 35,452 cases – in Ternopil region, 34,769 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 34,535 cases - in Volyn region, 31,629 cases – in Chernihiv region, 29,265 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 24,071 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 19,332 cases – in Kherson region, 12,390 – in Luhansk region, and 9,083 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 11, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,116 over January 10 to 1,124,430, and the number of deaths increased by 184 over January 10 to 20,019; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 19.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 2.7 times.

On January 10, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,288 over January 9 to 1,119,314, and the number of deaths increased by 68 over January 9 to 19,835; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 14.4%, and the number of new lethal cases fell by 31.3%.
