Number Of PCR-Tests Up 98.2% To 23,873, Number Of ELISA Up 4.4 Times To 17,809 On January 11 – Health Ministry

On January 11, a total of 23,873 polymerase chain reaction tests (PCR) were conducted, up 98.2% over January 10; and the number of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) increased 4.4 times over January 10 to 17,809.

The Health Ministry has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the start of the year, a total of 5,805,824 polymerase chain reaction tests have been conducted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 10, a total of 12,043 polymerase chain reaction tests (PCR) were conducted, down 32% over January 9; and the number of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) decreased 27.3% over January 9 to 4,018.

On January 11, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,116 over January 10 to 1,124,430, and the number of deaths increased by 184 over January 10 to 20,019; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 19.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 2.7 times.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 11, there were 1,124,430 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 20,019 lethal cases; besides, 812,368 people had recovered.

On January 11, a total of 5,116 new cases of the disease were recorded, 184 people died, and 15,951 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 11, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (15,951 vs 5,116).

As at the morning of January 11, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 292,043, down 3.6% over January 11.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (118,486), Odesa region (76,290), and Kharkiv region (72,941).
