2020 Inflation 5.0%

In 2020, consumer prices rose by 5.0%.

The State Statistics Service has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In December, consumer prices rose by 0.9%.

At that, in 2020, foodstuff and soft beverage prices rose by 4.9% (in December rose by 1.7%), prices for clothes and footwear decreased by 7.3% (in December fell by 4.6%), cost of housing-public utility services rose by 13.6% (in December rose by 0.1%), health care services rose in cost by 7.7% (in December rose by 0.4%), and cost of education rose by 13.9% (in December did not change).

In December 2020, consumer prices rose by 5.0% over December 2019.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October 2020, consumer prices rose by 1.0%.

In 2019, inflation was 4.1%; 9.8% in 2018; 13.7% in 2017; 12.4% in 2016; 43.3% in 2015; 24.9% in 2014; 0.5% in 2013.

The state budget for 2020 was revised based on the macroeconomic forecast, which provides for an increase in consumer prices by 11.6% (December to December) instead of the previously planned 5.5%.
