As of January 4, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine decreased by 7.88% or UAH 115.37 per MWh to UAH 1,347.56 per MWh over December 28.
The Market Operator state-run enterprise has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In turn, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market within the Burshtyn Energy Island increased by 0.2% or UAH 3.68 per MWh to UAH 1,589.39 per MWh.
Compared to prices on the European energy exchange Nord Pool, the price in the UES of Ukraine (EUR 38.79 per MWh) exceeds the prices in Norway (EUR 37.32 per MWh) by 3.8%.
At the same time, the price of electricity in Sweden (EUR 42.60 per MWh) is by 9.8% higher than in Ukraine, in Denmark (EUR 43.02 per MWh) by 10.9%, in Germany (EUR 48.02 per MWh) – by 23.8%, in France (EUR 59.27 per MWh) by 52.8%, and in Austria (EUR 50.57 per MWh) by 30.4%.
Also at the Hungarian stock exchange HUPX for the same period, the weighted average cost of electricity increased by 39.3% or EUR 14.52 per MWh to EUR 51.45 per MWh (UAH 1,787.35 per MWh according to the NBU rate as of January 4).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of December 28, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine decreased by 4.32% or UAH 66.01 per MWh to UAH 1,462.93 per MWh over December 21.
