On January 3, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by 504 over January 2 to 113,523, and the number of deaths rose by 14 to 1,977.

Kyiv City Mayor / Chairperson of the Kyiv City State Administration, Vitali Klitschko, has written this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Friends! Another 504 coronavirus patients were found in the capital over the past day. 14 people died. In total, 1,977 deaths from the virus were recorded in the capital during the pandemic period. There are already 113,523 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kyiv today," Klitschko wrote.

There were 288 women aged 18-88; 183 men aged 19-87; 15 girls aged 1-16; and 18 boys aged 1-17 among the people infected with the coronavirus on January 3.

Besides, 31 medical workers fell ill.

A total of 44 patients were hospitalized in the capital's hospitals, others are on self-isolation, under the supervision of doctors.

Over the past day, 120 people have recovered.

In total, 40,354 residents of Kyiv have overcome the coronavirus.

Most cases of the disease over the past day were found in Darnytskyi district - 192, in Dniprovskyi district - 84, and Solomianskyi district - 51 cases.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 2, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by 370 over January 1 to 113,019, and the number of deaths rose by 21 to 1,963.

On January 3, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,158 over January 2 to 1,078,251, and the number of deaths increased by 73 over January 2 to 18,927; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 9.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 40.7%.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 4, there were 1,078,251 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 18,927 lethal cases; besides, 733,558 people had recovered.

On January 3, a total of 4,158 new cases of the disease were recorded, 73 people died, and 4,693 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 3, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (4,158 vs 4,693).

As at the morning of January 4, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 325,766, down 0.2% over January 3.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (113,523), Odesa region (72,600), and Kharkiv region (70,343).
