On December 28, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,988 over December 27 to 1,037,362, and the number of deaths increased by 232 over December 27 to 18,081; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 59.4%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 3.1 times.
The National Security and Defense Council has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, as at the morning of December 29, there were 1,037,362 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 18,081 lethal cases; besides, 681,835 people had recovered.
On December 28, a total of 6,988 new cases of the disease were recorded, 232 people died, and 16,106 people recovered.
Therefore, as at December 28, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (6,988 vs 16,106).
As at the morning of December 29, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 337,446, down 2.7% over December 28.
Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (109,008), Odesa region (69,863), and Kharkiv region (68,395).
Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 60,560 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 57,912; Dnipropetrovsk region – 57,632 cases, Zaporizhia region – 52,689, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 42,949, Rivne region – 40,459, Sumy region – 40,170, Chernivtsi region - 39,662, Zhytomyr region – 38,554, Khmelnytskyi region – 38,471, Cherkasy region – 38,302, and Donetsk region – 35,562.
A total of 35,487 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 33,622 cases – in Ternopil region, 32,626 cases - in Volyn region, 30,300 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 29,458 cases – in Chernihiv region, 27,974 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 22,078 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 17,327 cases – in Kherson region, 10,054 – in Luhansk region, and 8,248 cases – in Kirovohrad region.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 27, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,385 over December 26 to 1,030,374, and the number of deaths increased by 75 over December 26 to 17,849; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 28.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 4.2%.
On December 26, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,113 over December 25 to 1,025,989, and the number of deaths increased by 72 over December 25 to 17,774; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 20.7%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 40.5%.
