Weighted Average Price Of Electricity At Day-Ahead Market Down 11.5% To UAH 1,529 Per MWh On December 14-21

As of December 21, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine decreased by 11.45% or UAH 197.75 per MWh to UAH 1,528.94 per MWh over December 14.

The Market Operator state-run enterprise has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In turn, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market within the Burshtyn Energy Island increased by 1.2% or UAH 19.64 per MWh to UAH 1,602.93 per MWh.

Compared to prices on the European energy exchange Nord Pool, the price in the UES of Ukraine (EUR 44.83 per MWh) exceeds the prices in Norway (EUR 16.05 per MWh) 2.8 times, in Sweden (EUR 18.46 per MWh) – 2.4 times, in Denmark (EUR 23.64 per MWh) by 89.6%, in Germany (EUR 38.78 per MWh) – by 15.6%.

At the same time, the price for electricity in France (EUR 45.11 per MWh) by 0.6% higher than in Ukraine, and in Austria (EUR 52.20 per MWh) by 16.43%.

Also at the Hungarian stock exchange HUPX for the same period, the weighted average cost of electricity increased by 40.08% or EUR 19.78 per MWh to EUR 69.13 per MWh (UAH 2,357.46 per MWh according to the NBU rate as of December 21).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of December 14, the weighted average price of electricity at the day-ahead market in the unified energy system of Ukraine increased by 7.4% or UAH 119.48 per MWh to UAH 1,726.69 per MWh over December 7.
