On December 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 12,047 over December 15 to 931,751, and the number of deaths increased by 252 over December 15 to 15,996; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 13.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased 4.5%.
The National Security and Defense Council has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, as at the morning of December 17, there were 931,751 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 15,996 lethal cases; besides, 548,356 people had recovered.
On December 16, a total of 12,047 new cases of the disease were recorded, 252 people died, and 12,939 people recovered.
Therefore, as at December 16, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (12,047 vs 12,939).
The number of the active sick (only those sick) as at the morning of December 17, made 367,399 people, down 0.3% day over day.
Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (96,672), Kharkiv region (63,732), and Odesa region (61,038).
Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 55,291 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 50,894; Kyiv region – 50,666 cases, Zaporizhia region – 44,693, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 41,356, Chernivtsi region – 37,467, Rivne region – 37,417, Sumy region - 36,599, Khmelnytskyi region – 35,632, Zhytomyr region – 35,157, Cherkasy region – 33,254, and Ternopil region – 31,874.
A total of 30,896 cases have been registered in Donetsk region, 30,7830 cases – in Poltava region, 29,390 cases – in Volyn region, 26,685 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 25,917 cases - in Chernihiv region, 25,287 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 20,319 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 14,858 cases – in Kherson region, 8,359 cases – in Luhansk region, and 7,515 cases – in Kirovohrad region.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,622 over December 14 to 919,704, and the number of deaths increased by 264 over December 14 to 15,744; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 26.2%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 13.3%.
On December 14, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,416 over December 13 to 909,082, and the number of deaths increased by 233 over December 13 to 15,480; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 30.5%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 2.5 times.
