Number Of PCR-Tests Up 27.5% To 40,740, Number Of ELISA Down 5% To 22,705 On December 15 – Health Ministry

On December 15, a total of 40,740 polymerase chain reaction tests (PCR) were conducted, up 27.5% over December 14; and the number of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) decreased by 5% over December 14 to 22,705.

Health Ministry has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the start of the year, a total of 5,125,389 polymerase chain reaction tests have been conducted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 14, a total of 31,963 polymerase chain reaction tests (PCR) were conducted, up 56% over December 13; and the number of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) increased by 4.7 times over December 13 to 23,893.

On December 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,622 over December 14 to 919,704, and the number of deaths increased by 264 over December 14 to 15,744; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 26.2%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 13.3%.

According to the report, as at the morning of December 16, there were 919,704 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 15,744 lethal cases; besides, 535,417 people had recovered.

On December 15, a total of 10,622 new cases of the disease were recorded, 264 people died, and 12,549 people recovered.

Therefore, as at December 15, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (10,622 vs 12,549).

The number of the active sick (only those sick) as at the morning of December 16, made 368,543 people, down 0.59% day over day.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (95,160), Kharkiv region (63,178), and Odesa region (59,974).
