On December 8, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 12,585 over December 7 to 845,343, and the number of deaths increased by 276 over December 7 to 14,204; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 16.4%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 41.5%.
The National Security and Defense Council has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, as at the morning of December 9, there were 845,343 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 14,204 lethal cases; besides, 451,118 people had recovered.
On December 8, a total of 12,585 new cases of the disease were recorded, 276 people died, and 14,554 people recovered.
Therefore, as at December 8, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (12,585 vs 14,554).
The number of the active sick (only those sick) as at the morning of December 9, made 380,021 people, down 0.58% day over day.
Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (84,538), Kharkiv region (60,273), and Odesa region (54,123).
Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 51,375 coronavirus infection cases, Dnipropetrovsk region – 46,056; Kyiv region – 45,497 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 39,730, Zaporizhia region – 38,698, Chernivtsi region – 35,826, Rivne region – 34,588, Sumy region - 34,226, Khmelnytskyi region – 32,960, Zhytomyr region – 32,498, Ternopil region – 30,203, and Cherkasy region – 28,728.
A total of 27,222 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 26,832 cases – in Volyn region, 27,044 cases – in Donetsk region, 25,029 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 22,167 cases - in Chernihiv region, 22,127 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 18,988 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 12,826 cases – in Kherson region, 7,275 cases – in Luhansk region, and 6,524 cases – in Kirovohrad region.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 7, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 10,811 over December 6 to 832,758, and the number of deaths increased by 195 over December 6 to 13,928; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 25.1%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 34.5%.
On December 6, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,641 over December 5 to 821,947, and the number of deaths increased by 145 over December 5 to 13,733; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 25.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 13.2%.
