On November 17, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by a record-breaking 1,213 over November 16 to 53,855, and the number of deaths rose by 23 to 1,013.
Kyiv City Mayor / Chairperson of the Kyiv City State Administration, Vitali Klitschko, announced that at a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
There were 673 women aged 18-94; 451 men aged 18-89; 51 girls aged 25d-17y; and 38 boys aged 2m-17y among the people infected with the coronavirus on November 17.
Besides, the number includes 39 medical workers.
On November 17, a total of 94 people were hospitalized and the rest are staying in self-isolation.
A total of 430 people recovered in the capital on November 17.
In total, 19,556 residents of Kyiv have overcome the coronavirus.
The largest number of coronavirus cases was registered in Shevchenkivskyi district - 169, Podilskyi district – 160, and in Desnianskyi district - 137.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 16, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by 1,143 over November 15 to 52,642, and the number of deaths rose by 14 to 990.
On November 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine increased by 12,496 over November 16 to 570,153, and the number of deaths rose by 256 over November 16 to 10,112; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 4.4%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 61%.
According to the report, as at the morning of November 17, there were 570,153 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 10,112 lethal cases; besides, 250,983 people had recovered.
On November 17, a total of 12,496 new cases of the disease were recorded, and 256 people died.
As at the morning of November 18, the number of the active sick (less those, who have recovered and died) was 309,058, up 4.1% day over day.
Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (53,855), Kharkiv region (49,067), and Lviv region (38,577).
