In December, the population's debt for housing and utility services increased by 17.1% or UAH 7,381.3 million month over month to UAH 50,756.8 million.
The State Statistics Service announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The debt for apartment rent increased by UAH 19.5 million to amount to UAH 4,040.6 million as of January 1, 2019.
Heating and hot-water supply debt increased by UAH 3,030.1 million to amount to UAH 16,631 million.
The debt for gas supplies increased by UAH 4,270.1 million to UAH 26,400 million.
In December, the largest heating and hot-water supply debts were registered in Kyiv city (UAH 3,607.907 million), Kharkiv region (UAH 2,734.931 million) and Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 2,398.612 million).
The largest gas supply debts in December were registered in Kharkiv region (UAH 2,833.484 million), Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 2,693.752 million) and Odesa region (UAH 2,387.432 million).
The largest apartment rent debts in December were recorded in Kyiv city (UAH 800.157 million), Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 846.259 million) and Donetsk region (UAH 350.547 million).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in November, the population's debt for housing and utility services increased by 21% or UAH 7,516.7 million month over month to UAH 43,375.5 million.
