Monetary Base Up 1.8% To UAH 432.527 Billion In November

In November 2018, the monetary base, which includes hard money in circulation off banks, banks' reserve money and other money, according to current data from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), rose by 1.8% from UAH 425.018 as at November 1 to UAH 432.527 billion as at December 1.

The National Bank of Ukraine announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In the year to date, the monetary base has increased by 8.4% from UAH 399.1 billion.

In November, monetary base decreased by 1.3% from UAH 1,245.2 billion as at November 1 to UAH 1,228.6 billion as at December 1.

In the year to date, the monetary base has risen by 1.6% from UAH 1,208.859 billion.

In compliance with the NBU's latest data, the amount of cash in circulation in November rose by 1.3% from UAH 347.4 billion as at November 1 to UAH 351.8 billion as at December 1, and since January 1, 2018, it has grown by 5.8% from UAH 332.546 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2017, the monetary base rose by 4.6% from UAH 381.6.

In 2017, monetary supply increased by 9.6% from UAH 1,102.762 billion.

In 2016, the monetary base rose by 13.6% from UAH 336.0 billion as at January 1, 2016 to UAH 381.575 billion as at January 1, 2017.

Monetary supply increased by 10.8% in 2016, from UAH 994.062 billion as of January 1, 2016 to UAH 1,101.641 billion as of January 1, 2017.
