Total State Debt Down 1.1% To USD 74.9 Billion In August

The total state debt (direct and state-secured) of Ukraine in August decreased by 1.14% or USD 0.86 billion to USD 74.85 billion (as at August 31) month over month.

Ukrainian News Agency has learnt this from data of the Ministry of Finance.

The state and state-secured debt as at late August made UAH 2,116.67 billion or USD 74.85 billion over UAH 2,025.67 billion or USD 75.71 billion in the previous month.

The total size of the direct state debt as at August 31 made UAH 1,829.88 billion (USD 64.71 billion) over UAH 1,750.39 billion or USD 65.42 billion in the previous month.

At that direct foreign debt increased by USD 0.35 billion to USD 37.87 billion, while direct domestic debt increased by UAH 12.37 billion to UAH 759.06 billion (and in US dollar equivalent fell to USD 26.84 billion).

As at August 31, the state-secured debt made UAH 286.78 billion or USD 10.14 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2017, the state and state-secured debt of Ukraine rose in US dollar equivalent by 7.5% or USD 5.33 billion to USD 76.31 billion.

In 2016, the total state debt of Ukraine rose from USD 65.51 to USD 70,97 billion.
