The Kyiv Appeal Court has terminated the ruling of the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv providing the Prosecutor General's Office with access to mobile-phone data of a Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) investigative reporter and the anchorwoman of its Schemes programme, Natalia Sedletska within a case on possible release of a state secret by Artem Sytnyk, the director of the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine.
The Kyiv Appeal Court made the decision on Tuesday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The appeal court partially satisfied Sedletska's complaint.
The Kyiv Appeal Court provides the investigation with temporary access to information on dates and location of the phone of Sedletska from July 19, 2016, to November 16, 2017, within base stations of Kyivstar mobile communications operator on streets Surikova, Bohdanovska, Shovkunenko, Lipkivskoho, Solomianska Square in Kyiv.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) urges the Ukrainian authorities to cease excessive measures taken against the investigative journalists Natalia Sedletska and Kristina Berdinskikh.
